Young Professionals Group FAQ
Young Professionals Group FAQ
What is a “young professional”?
YPs are considered working adults no older than 35, but also include young intellectuals above the age of 18.
What type of job do I have to have to be included?
YPs come from all different types of backgrounds, industries, and educational experiences. Occupations ranging from artists, to engineers to small business owners are welcome in NYPG.
Is this another dating or social club?
NYPG offers networking, fun, and social opportunities with other YPs. This is an organization designed to discover, cultivate, and help our YPs thrive. Our goal is to make a significant difference in the development of our members and a positive impact in our community. At our events, YPs will have opportunities to meet other YPs and community leaders with the focus on building connections and relationships.
Do I have to be a Chamber member to join NYPG?
No, but we encourage you and your company to become members of the Chamber. Membership in NYPG is separate from Chamber membership. NYPG is a program of the Noblesville Chamber of Commerce and wants to support the growth and development of Noblesville’s up and coming talented workforce. Chamber membership is NOT required, but highly encouraged.
How much is membership in NYPG and how long will it last?
NYPG has an annual membership of $60 for non-Chamber members. The annual membership is waved for Chamber members. Both will pay admission to NYPG events. The membership is based on anniversary dates, so if you join in June of 2013 your membership is good until June 2014.
How can I get involved in NYPG?
Simply fill out the NYPG application or come to one of our events as a guest. We reserve the right to limit you to two events as a non-member. With the continuing development of NYPG, we will need self motivated individuals to come together and help build NYPG into one of the most successful YP groups in Indiana. We also have various leadership roles within NYPG, so if you are interested in helping coordinate events or promote membership, just see one of the NYPG leaders.
How did NYPG get started?
The need for this program was discovered and acted upon by young professionals involved with the Noblesville Chamber of Commerce.
Do I have to live in Noblesville to join NYPG?
No. NYPG is a regionally focused group and accepts members from all surrounding communities in Hamilton County. So, whether you live in Fishers, Carmel, Zionsville, Westfield, or any other community in the area, you are welcome at NYPG.
How often will NYPG meet?
NYPG will offer a minimum of one event per month to its members. These events range from social networking events to lunch and learn type seminars with a featured speaker, and often are combined with other YPGs in Hamilton County. In addition to one event per month, our goal is to focus on one community event per quarter. If you are involved with a non-profit organization that needs some volunteers, please contact one of the NYPG leaders.
